TREATMENT PLANS

SIMPLE EARTH

Our Simple Earth plan is the first step toward pest control the green way. You get five treatment visits a year, each with a 30-day no-charge re-treatment guarantee. In this plan, we significantly cut the use of traditional chemicals and use botanical-based products that leave much less residual impact on your home’s environment. The service also includes our 15-point inspection, initial prevention services, and a re-inspection each time we do a treatment.

GREEN EARTH

Our Green Earth plan embraces green pest control by using nothing but botanically derived products, such as essential oils, borates, and diatomaceous earth, rather than traditional harsh pesticides. The residual impact of the treatment on your home’s environment is greatly reduced. With Green Earth, you get six treatment visits a year, each with a 30-day no-charge re-treatment guarantee. The service also includes our 15-point inspection, initial prevention services, and a re-inspection each time we do a treatment.

Ask & We Answer

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I really need to be on a pest maintenance program after I’m no longer seeing any pests?

Pests are often around the home whether you see them or not. It’s important to be on the lookout to prevent infestations. Once an infestation occurs, getting rid of the pest, or even finding the source, can be difficult. Green Army believes in using low-impact preventive methods, such as eliminating pests’ breeding grounds, rather than fighting them with harsh chemicals once they take over your house, possibly carrying in diseases and damaging your home.

What are mouse and cockroach allergens?

Mice and cockroaches are relatively common allergy triggers, and people often don’t realize that one of these is the source of their problem. The allergens can come from particles of anything these pests leave behind, including skin cells, dander, and excrement. These particles are mixed in with household dust and can be found on fabrics, cardboard, carpeting, and even food. The most common misconception about these allergens is that it’s necessary to have an infestation of mice or cockroaches before they can be the source of your allergies.

What are five things I can do inside my house to keep pests away?

1. Keep all kitchen areas clean (including floors) and free of useless clutter. Kitchen appliances should be kept free of spills and crumbs. Clean shelves regularly and store foods such as cereal, flour, and dog food in airtight containers.

2. Keep garbage areas clean. Garbage should be stored in sealed containers and disposed of regularly.

The time tested liquid treatment creates a barrier in the soil between the invading subterranean (underground) termite colony and your home. The alternative treatment is called a Green Army® bait station, which is a baiting system. This system is a more “green” approach than a liquid treatment, but both are effective methods of control.

What is the most effective type of termite treatment?

A trained and licensed Green Army® professional is the best person to make a recommendation for each particular property.

What can a homeowner do to prevent termites?

Termites love moisture. Eliminate any moisture around the foundation of your home. Divert water away with properly functioning downspouts, gutters and splash blocks. Reduce humidity in crawl spaces with proper ventilation. Prevent shrubs, vines and other vegetation from growing over and onto the home and covering vents. Be sure to remove old form boards, grade stakes, etc., left in place after the building was constructed. Remove old tree stumps and roots around and beneath the building. Most importantly, eliminate any wood contact with the soil. An 18-inch gap between the soil and wood portions of the building is ideal. It doesn’t hurt to routinely inspect the foundation of your home for signs of termite damage.

Can pests other than termites damage property?

Absolutely. Carpenter ants, carpenter bees and powder post beetles are all categorized as wood destroying insects. That’s why it’s important to have a professional identify the source of your problem and provide the most effective treatment to control it.

How do you treat for Cockroaches?

Cockroaches have long been one of the most common household pests in our area. We’ve developed years of expertise in solving cockroach problems. Our control strategy depends upon the species of cockroach, which is why inspection and identification is an important first step. Upon identification of the species and analysis of the situation, a strategy is developed. Green Army® technicians utilize baits, carefully placed out of reach of children and pets, to eliminate cockroach populations. In other situations, insect growth regulators, which inhibit the ability of the cockroach to molt and grow, are used in combination with other methods. And additionally, we provide information to clients about the ways that they can minimize pest immigration and avoid providing harborage for pest populations. So you see, cockroach control is really best achieved through a combination of techniques – an “integrated” approach to pest management.

Does Green Army have a service to control mice?

The house mouse is one of the most common pests triggering a call to Green Army®. They are best dealt with using an integrated approach including exclusion, sanitation, and population reduction. Usually traps are employed to eliminate mice living inside buildings, but rodenticide baits occasionally have some utility as well. Each account should be inspected and assessed for the best approach to use at each home/building.

Does Green Army® have a service to control moths?

Most pest moths fall into one of two categories: 1) stored product pest moths, or 2) clothes moths. We can help solve problems with both groups of pests. In both cases, the solution involves identifying the source and eliminating them. In conjunction, a program can be devised to monitor for their presence. Programs vary widely depending on the account. Residential services and commercial services can take on radically different approaches and each requires individual assessment.
